If you want to choose the rod yourself, double click on the one you want to use in your inventory to begin fishing.

Here are the settings: general settings. Fast Battles - Ticking this makes your battles faster by taking out the exp/money gain at the end of each battle (don’t worry, you still receive exp/money, it just won’t show it in battles).
