Hi, You have to do Desert treasure anyway in order to get Barrows gloves. If you won't choose the 35k Def exp reward after completing monkey madness you will be fine (choose str and hp). Most likely after Fremennik trials you will hit 45 def but not over. You can check the stats you will end up with at the end of the guide.
