Additional ways of getting Heist items is from Sextants (one forces smugglers cache to spawn), Expedition (logbooks will have Heist chests past a certain ilevel + Tujen can sell contracts and blueprints), and Archnemsis has the Temporal Bubble recipe that yields Heist rewards.
Move the map around and see what rewards are available. Pick in advance which ones you will open, and plan to take small chests instead of the ones you don't. This is done to maximize the value you gain from your trinket.
