When you gain a level you get five more attribute points to spend on Str, Dex or Int and one skill point. Sometimes you learn a new skill and your skill point is automatically applied to that skill. When you gain levels, you won't be able to gain xp in lower dungeons.
As you progress through the game you earn experience to gain levels and unlock amazing magical powers. You can also buy and find weapons and armor that you can equip to help you fight stronger enemies and earn more experience.

A skill is an ability that your character learns as they level. Skills help you to defeat an enemy, heal your party members, give yourself and/or others a buff, or cast a debuff on your enemy. You learn skills every 2 levels starting at level 2.
