I've installed the Sims 3 since (through EA), and the launcher opens, but when I click the play button, it exits out of the launcher and opens "The Sims 3" page in the EA app. Then, when I hit "play," it opens the launcher. Repeat cycle. Any ideas on what may be causing this and how I can fix this?
When I attempt to return to Edit Town to save then it gets stuck in infinite loading. Or, if it loads and I try to save then it will be stuck in infinite save. I turn off testingCheatsEnabled and moveObjects before doing this. 🔨 Attempted Fixes: -. Started a clean save file.
I can open my sims 3 launcher fine, but when I press play my screen goes black and then closes itself. I've had this problem before but it usually fixes itself with a computer restart. I have deleted all of my cc, uninstalled and reinstalled the sims 3 twice, and repaired the files through origin.

Sometimes a problem with custom content can cause a crash when you’re loading into your game. The quick way to check if this is happening is to disable custom content in the launcher and try the game again. Exit the Sims 3 launcher completely. Restart it, then click on Installed Content.
