If you can run Origin, and most but not all players can, repair the game: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair. Then try to launch Sims 3 while using the Task Manager method again and let me know whether it works. Origin installs also use TS3.exe, without the W.

I can open my sims 3 launcher fine, but when I press play my screen goes black and then closes itself. I've had this problem before but it usually fixes itself with a computer restart. I have deleted all of my cc, uninstalled and reinstalled the sims 3 twice, and repaired the files through origin.
9 mar 2022 · First, since you already tried opening the game, check to make sure the launcher is not still running in the background. If you are on Windows, go to the bottom right of your screen and click on the tiny ^ arrow. If the Sims 3 icon is in there, click on it and close the launcher.

@SparkleQueen2142 While still online, go to your Origin library, right-click on the Sims 3 icon, and select Repair Game. When it's done, restart your computer, sign into Origin, take your computer offline, press play, and in the launcher, check the Expansions and Stuff tab.
