If you're on the Steam client, right click RuneScape in your game library and click Properties. Go to the Language tab and change the language to English, then restart the client. However, if you're not using Steam's client you'll need to click the cog icon on the bottom left of the screen with Ariane's art on it to bring up the Options.

I've started playing a couple of weeks ago, and since it's a MMO, it thought it would be fun to bring along some friends, who agreed to try. However, I have yet to find stuff that we can do together. I'm finding rather strange that we can't group to do regular everyday activities.
