27 cze 2017 · There's plenty of comparable or better machines at 1/2 the cost of a loaded Plasmacam. I paid $6k for my 4x8 setup, and it does everything the Plasmacam machines does, without the concerns about bearing needing adjustment or wearing out from running up and down a painted steel tube.
PlasmaCAM DHC2 packages start at a finance cost of around $25 per day, or $175 per week. The total cost will depend on the package that you choose: for example the plasma machine model (depending on material thickness you want to cut), the specific accessories included, etc.
The cost and consumption of the abrasive alone is substantial. For these reasons, waterjet is normally only used to cut what can’t otherwise be cut, like exotic materials or extremely thick parts that require high accuracy.

The cost was about $8,000 plus $1,000 for Advanced Design Software Upgrade plus $1,000 Basic Height Control Plus $1,000 Full 3D Capability. Total about $11,000 plus shipping and tax.
Are there any hidden costs? The PlasmaCAM system is not a kit and doesn't require you to build, weld, grind-to-fit, paint, or assemble drive components. You don't have to fabricate any framework or supporting structure (like the cutting grate) to have a functioning machine.
