These pilot operated check valves operate as a direct check valve but can also be opened by pilot pressure, on the control piston, to permit free reverse ow. The amount of pilot pressure required to open the valve is stated as a ratio of the pressure above the check to the pilot pressure.

valve can pilot the check valve open and result in undesired load motion. · Locate pilot-operated check valves at or near the actuator to provide maximum load holding protection in the event of hydraulic line failure.
PILOT OPERATED CHECK VALVES. They are non-modulating valves which allow free flow through the check valve into the actuator (V2 to C2) and then block the reverse flow until they feel a pilot pressure directly proportional to the load in the pilot line, so that the pilot piston can push the check poppet off its seat.
The isolator valve type Z2S is a releasable check valve in sandwich plate design. It is used for the leakage-free blocking of one or two actuator ports, even for long standstill times. In direction A1 to A2 or B1 to B2, there is a free flow; in the opposite direction, the flow is blocked.
Pilot operated check valves work by allowing free flow from the inlet port through the outlet port. Supplying a pilot pressure to the pilot port allows flow in the opposite direction. Air pressure on top of the poppet assembly opens the seal allowing air to flow freely.
