Pio Pico is an artist-run space that opened its doors in Boyle Heights in late 2017, in the same building that for more than a decade hosted the studios of some of the most relevant contemporary artists of today: Thomas Houseago, Aaron Curry, Noah Davis, and Yutaka Sone, among others.
Alejandro Cartagena lives and works in Monterrey, Mexico. He is an artist, teacher and promoter of photography. His projects are primarily documentary based, and employ landscape and portraiture as a means to examine social, urban and environmental issues in Latin America.
