Eng 1450, chem 1100, and phys 1050 all use online books. The one for physics should be free, but 1450’s isn’t (you probably don’t need it). In chem 1100 you have to pay for a thing where you hand in your assignments and It comes with the textbook.

PHYS1020 is a non-calculus survey course in Physics covering topics in mechanics and thermodynamics, with illustrations drawn from the life sciences and physical sciences. This course, together with the sequel PHYS 1030, is recommended for students seeking either a single, comprehensive course in Physics or entry into health science programs.
TEXTBOOKS: There is no required textbook for this course. Course notes and assignments will be published online on the course webpage drop.physics.umanitoba.ca/~jsirker. However, you might want to consult some of the textbooks listed below for certain parts of the course: Stephen Wolfram, A new kind of Science (Wolfram Media 2002).
