The retroarch core named "same_cdi" allows to play Philips CD-i disks. It's an open source fork of Mame available for Windows, Mac OSX and Linux, but right now there is no ARM build. The core support BIN/CUE files as well as CHD.
It's cheaper to emulate a Phillips CDI than spending 300 to 500 dollars on eBay for a actually CDI and the digital video cartridge. Until the same CDI core fully supports the digital video cartridge, many games remain unplayable.

SAME CDi is a S(ingle) A(rcade) M(achine) E(mulator) for libretro, forked from MAME libretro, which is in turn a fork of MAME. It includes only the Philips CD-i driver, and simplifies the loading of CD content to provide a 'plug and play' experience.
21 cze 2019 · I've configured the mame core using this tutorial: https://forums.libretro.com/t/run-philips-cd-i-games-in-retroarch-mame-libretro-via-rocketlauncher/8672. When I try to launch a game in Launchbox, retroarch just crashes.
