I think Celestial is pretty fantastic because the 6th level version never really goes bad (you can always use it to get Inspire Courage/Competence), as is Fey. At level 17, Fiend is the best because Gelgulon and Glabrezu are brokenly good.

25 maj 2020 · You conjure a celestial to fight on your behalf. This works like summon animal, except you summon a common creature that has the celestial trait and whose level is 5 or lower. You can't summon a creature unless its alignment is one of your deity's preferred alignments (or, if you don't have a deity, is within one step of your alignment).
Another great use of summons is to target weaknesses or vulnerabilities. Summon a fire elemental against a troll, for example. Some of the lists have few choices, which is why I recommend allowing weak/elite template.
