the weird thing is that most pets don't care if you don't feed them but they still give the warning messages. if you're familiar with the mechanics of the pets after the pet update you'll just ignore the warnings the kitten gives you the first time
A pet is a non-combat NPC loyal to a player that follows behind the player as they move around the game world. Players can manage pets while active through the familiar interface, by using food on them, by left-clicking, and with direct interaction by right-clicking.
