I have Pergo in my basement and while it looks great, I’m finding it to be a bit delicate. It scratches a lot easier than I thought it would. I don’t regret it, but when we re-do our flooring on our main level I will definitely be going with vinyl plank.

From what I understand, LVP is waterproof enough so that if you spill liquids it won't seep through and damage the subfloor. It certainly isn't waterproof enough to handle standing water for an extended period of time.

Vinyl Pergo can also work in the same area but if you’re using standard Pergo, which is a laminate floor, it is best to avoid moisture.
