Legislative authority for the City of Peoria, Arizona is vested in a six-member City Council and the Mayor. Peoria has six council districts with one elected representative from each district with members elected to four year terms. The mayor is elected at large for a term of four years.

The census showed a 5 percent population increase from 2010 to 2015, mostly in Peoria’s northern region. In the new map, for example, the Willow district will extend farther into the Mesquite district.
