Act 114 Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) FBI Federal Criminal History Clearance. The fingerprint-based background check is a multiple-step process: The applicant must register prior to going to the fingerprint site. Walk in service without prior registration will not be provided at any fingerprinting location.
Please visit the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance (PATCH) website. The department will request the results of the PATCH from the provider and any person with a 5 percent or greater ownership interest in the provider.
Forms can be processed online or by mail. Non-residents of Pennsylvania or those who have lived in Pennsylvania less than ten (10) years also need to complete an FBI clearance (Act 114).

Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance As of January 5, 2015 you may now gain the PA Child Abuse History Clearance online. Pennsylvania Acts 33, 34, & 114 Clearances. Full-time Duquesne University students and employees or volunteers who want to serve as Supervising Adults are required to complete Act 33 Child Abuse and Act 34 Criminal Record checks. Forms can be processed online or by mail.
