27 sty 2015 · Unfortunately we only have an old Windows XP computer that does not have a PCMCIA slot. I was hoping this group could give me the correct way to convert the PCMCIA card to either a USB or Serial configuration so I can connect it to the computer.
14 kwi 2020 · It is not possible to make a generic PCMCIA drive (slot) with a USB interface to a host computer that would fully comply with the PCMCIA standard. This is because the PCMCIA standard gives much greater access between the CPU and the peripheral device than what USB can give.
23 kwi 2013 · There are several USB-based PCMCIA adapters on the market. A quick google search for external pcmcia usb adapter turns up a number of them. Amtron seems to offer a number of USB-based readers, including this one which looks to support a number of different card types.

15 sie 2018 · I have a PCMCIA card that has some "unique" hardware that can connect to it. Software (lastest version does run on windows 10) still can still support it - confirmed it by installing on PC with card slot - but modern laptops do not have a PCMCIA port anymore.
