2 maj 2017 · I'd still like to see a schematic from a pcb layout program or a simulation program that is is as readable and clear as the 'ElCheapo' schematic above, or for that matter as readable as any of the old Fender guitar amp schematics or Heathkit schematics.
27 lut 2020 · KiCAD works pretty well for me, and it has the bonus of a built-in PCB layout suite. If you don't like some symbols, it's easy enough to create your own. Completely free and open-source, which is a bonus.

Simple and quite similar design of most hi-fi and guitar circuits enables us to use modular approach in tube amp building, using PCB modules. Studying the schematics helps us to design PCBs, where there is no space wasted with paralelled elements, but follow the rules of trace routing.

22 lut 2024 · I have built 3 tube amps using the point to point wiring method. I have built a mullard 3-3 where I could base myself on the mullard book. My other 2 builds are based on a schematic (an EL84PP and a tube preamp) and I had to figure out everything from there on.
