5 cze 2021 · Critical Hits: Slings have 20/x2 crits. Sling Staves get 20/x3, which is an improvement. Manyshot: Manyshot provides a significant damage boost for bow users which you can’t replicate as a sling user. Feats: While slings can be very powerful, they also carry a higher feat tax than bows.
30 sie 2018 · If you want to bring the boom, I'd go Halfling Alchemist (Grenadier) with the Warslinger trait. Take the Halfling Staff sling as your martial weapon, and then follow the Slipsligner Style combat feats chain. Basically you're playing field artillery with hairy toes.
Sling staves are better than crossbows (add STR to damage) but worse than composite bows (don't work with Manyshot) or regular throwing weapons (can't be dual-wielded). So you're probably going to focus on maxing out your damage per hit to offset having fewer attacks per round.
11 kwi 2018 · The humble sling is the prankster's weapon and a martial's answer to some "battlefield control" options. Sling Staff is already treated as a Club, so you can Ignore Whip-Slinger and Sling-Flail. The mentioned Slipslinger style is amazing, as it lets you use Alchemical Items (excluding Alchemist Bombs) as ranged projectiles, dealing both the Slingstaff's Damage and the damage from the Alchemical Item.
The gist of it is: Urogue scout/thug with the sap adept & master traits, using a merciful sling or sling staff. Guaranteed one ranged sneak attack per turn, with doubled sneak attack dice plus 1/2 your level to damage.
