BASIC PROGRAM SUPPORT. When you purchase the PastPerfect program, you receive free support for 30 days. During that period, you may contact our support staff via telephone or email as often as needed. We will answer questions about how to install and begin using the software.
This chapter will walk you through the basic steps to set up PastPerfect for your organization. Before you begin this task, PastPerfect must be installed on your computers. See Chapter 1, Installation and Upgrade, for details on installation. These are the steps recommended when using PastPerfect for the first time.
We offer a number of free options for learning how to use PastPerfect, including our user guides, Knowledge Base, and variety of videos. For PastPerfect 5.0 users, we also offer three training CDs that cover everything from collections and contacts management to researching and reporting on your PastPerfect data.
1. This chapter will explain how to install PastPerfect on a single computer or a net-work. It will also show you how to load data from an older version of PastPerfect. At the end of the chapter you will find a list of the new features in version 5.0.
CATALOGING OBJECTS. The PastPerfect Objects catalog is for cataloging art, archaeology, natural history, geology, or history objects. Each object in your collection will require a specific set of fields to create an optimal catalog record.
