As District Superintendent, Alexa is responsible for administration of the schools under applicable laws, the policies of the Board, and the authority vested in the position by the State of Washington. The Superintendent is hired by, and is directly responsible to, the district's Board of Directors.
Over the past two weeks, the board has researched and considered available options (full search, selection/appointment, or interim), while simultaneously analyzing feedback being collected from a wide group of stakeholders.
28 mar 2023 · Input collected via the survey has enabled the board to move forward with confidence, understanding there is close alignment between the board’s priorities for hiring a new superintendent and the priorities shared by district staff and families.
10 wrz 2024 · The Parkway Board of Education and the national search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) have finalized the process and timeline for selecting Parkway’s next superintendent.
16 mar 2023 · Deer Park’s current superintendent, Travis Hanson, has accepted a position at the Mead School District, which will become effective on July 1st, 2023. Hanson has been a member of the Deer Park School District (DPSD) office for eighteen years, with the last decade serving as superintendent.
11 kwi 2023 · Dr. Alexa Allman has been unanimously chosen by the Deer Park School District's Board of Directors as the next superintendent. She will replace the outgoing Travis Hanson, who is moving to the Mead School District.
