1 lut 2018 · In this meta-analysis, techniques were divided in three neurophysiologic pain modulating mechanisms: (1) light stimulation of the painful area (Gate Control Theory), (2) second painful stimulation anywhere on the body during a contraction (DNIC), and (3) CNSC activated through continuous labour support and other psychological mechanisms.
18 cze 2024 · Pain during labor is a consequence of both physiological processes, including myometrial ischemia and tissue stretching, as well as the psychological process and response to physical pain. Non-pharmacological modalities attempt to treat pain mostly via the latter component.
The pain experience associated with labour is complex. Literature indicates psychosocial and environmental determinants of labour pain, and yet methods to support women usually target physiological attributes via pharmacological interventions.
