7 paź 2009 · The .45-60 can handle more pressure than its bigger brothers, the .45-75 and the .50-90 due to its thicker chamber walls. The same catalogue lists the .45-75 as firing a 350 grain bullet at 1,343 and the .50-95 fired a 300 grain bullet at 1,493 fps.
6 wrz 2014 · As I was drifting the web the other day, I ran across a load by Paco Kelly for the .45 Colt in rifles that used Re7 starting around 25gr, under 250-300gr bullets. Just out of curiosity, I ran the loads through QL and they seemed to be fairly high velocity from fairly low pressures. Has anyone else tried this for real??.

6 lis 2008 · I have tried a capacity load of RL-7 in my .45 Colt Marlin Cowboy rifle and the velocity was less than 1,500 f.p.s. with a 255 gr. bullet. Paco must have used some RL-7 that was much faster burning than current production(!). John

I cast some 255-260 grain .454 today and gonna play around with some new loads for the old Rossi 92 and came across a paco Kelly article on 45 colt for lever guns. Anyway I was just thinking of trying something new besides my old standard of 10 grains of unique or hs6. these are flat base no gas check boolits
