Penn State University Park, also referred to as University Park, is the main campus of Pennsylvania State University, located in both State College and College Township, both in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
University Park (Pa.) Description of work: Completed in 1938, Burrowes Building is named for Thomas Henry Burrowes, president of the university, 1868-1871, and founder of the state normal school system. The building was expanded in 1967 with the addition of wings.
University Park (Pa.) Description of work: By 1929, however, serious faults had made the building unsafe, and it was razed. A new Old Main was built in essentially the same footprint, employing a steel frame and much of the limestone salvaged from the original building.
