30 paź 2019 · In April, 1860 the House voted to admit Kansas as a free state under the Wyandot Constitution but pro-slavery Senators resisted. However, as southern states seceded from the Union and Senators from those states vacated their seats, the Senate was able to pass this bill granting Kansas statehood effective January 29, 1861.
