1. Snowy Owl. PA is in the southern boundary of the snowy owl's wintering range in North America. Therefore, to see it, explore northern PA's border with New York, from October to May. Snowy owls can fly from the southern region to Long Island. In summer, this species migrates north, as far as the Arctic Circle.
