If you have an IMAP email account, use these settings to set up your email account in Outlook 2016 for Mac.
Type in your email address and password. Select Add Account. Select Done. To add another account, select Tools > Accounts. Then select the plus (+) sign > New Account. Note: If adding a Gmail, Yahoo, or other IMAP or pop account, see Add an email account to Outlook for more information.
