3 lut 2022 · The conjunctiva is the outer lining of the eye and it can swell over time causing a condition known as conjunctivochalasis. If this has caused symptoms of tearing or discomfort, the lining can be tightened to relieve the swelling with a procedure known as a conjuctivoplasty.
The sclera, [note 1] also known as the white of the eye or, in older literature, as the tunica albuginea oculi, is the opaque, fibrous, protective outer layer of the eye containing mainly collagen and some crucial elastic fiber.
