Looking at taking train as I used it extensively in Italy, I found it affordable and reliable. Looking at train prices on Renfe website, train travel is much more expensive in Spain! I especially would like to take train from Madrid to Cordoba, and maybe bus to other locations.

5 lut 2024 · As of 2021, OUIGO also offers trains in Spain. As of 2022, OUIGO introduced OUIGO Classique, which differs from their ‘Grand Vitesse’ (high speed offerings) . Basically, the trains will take you to more destinations, but at the usual speed of a normal train, on classic inter-city non high speed routes as opposed to a high speed one.
