16 maj 2020 · Act I opens in the Piazzetta di San Marco. The people await Otello, who has been victorious over the Turks in Cyprus; for his deeds, the Doge makes him a Venetian citizen – angering his son Rodrigo and the soldier Iago, both in love with Desdemona.
