AFAIK there are only 2 ways to view osu! and that's either fullscreen or window mode. Which one do you most prefer? I myself play Fullscreen mode. I don't like other things on the screen while I'm playing. Also, the mouse cursor could skew off the game when playing Window mode.
By fullscreen, i don't only mean the fullscreen option in osu settings, but i actually want to cover my full screen with the osu window. In fact, i know it's possible : You can simply set a custom resolution in your windows parameter (1280x720 here instead of 1920x1080).

Full area is better in the sense that you have a bigger area for each circle to potentially hit it. Smaller can do things like full screen jumps at a much faster bpm. A year ago the circle jerk was FULL AREA OR NOTHINGGG and now people are changing to SMALL AREA U RETARD!!!
