The number of Nightmare Zone points you get from defeating a boss is calculated with actual_points = int(base_points * quest_multiplier) where the quest multiplier is determined by what quests you have active. Specifically, it is a function of the sum of the squares of the combat levels of every boss that can appear with the quests you have active.
NMZ Best points/hr bosses. copy and paste from a previous comment of mine: If you have on the proper bosses, Inadequacy will still give ~52k points. I just went and got 1.4m points in 40 mins on my lvl 101 ironman.

The Nightmare Zone is a combat minigame located in Yanille that lets you fight previous ‘quest-bosses’ in a dream state. As this is a safe minigame, many players come to the NMZ to train their combat. Due to the nature of the minigame, it’s very easy to AFK here.
