If you're going for the pet, you should be doing teak trees. They have the same drop rate as mahogany and grow faster. The sapling and payment is also cheaper iirc
You have a couple options, either go for the best xp methods for the higher drop chance or go for the most xp drops for the most rolls on the drop table. Different skills are calculated different ways (time based or xp based) and I'm no math expert so I'm not 100% sure which method you want to use with each skill.
