If you're looking for a game like Mordhau, or a medieval based fighter with a degree of accuracy (ie Mordhau), then Chivalry 2 isn't a good purchase. The game promises alot that it doesn't end up delivering.
If Chivalry 2 were on Steam, I will just analyze the quantity of players in SteamDB or Central Community. This information is not in Epic Games Store or Chivalry 2 website. And if this game were a singleplayer game, only reviews and Metacritic would be enough.
