12-minute run planner estimates how long it’ll take to crush your 12-minute run-for-distance benchmark based on a set of predefined strategies. Unlike the official pace chart, it allows you to have a mix of push, base & all-out during the run.
I've updated the benchmark planner/calculator (One that allows you to change/adjust your pace during the run) according to the feedback from the last 12min RFD benchmark run back in May. https://coda.io/@kennywong/otf
planner estimates how long it’ll take to CRUSH your mile run benchmark based on a set of predefined strategies - Unlike the official pace chart, it allows you to have a mix of push, base & all-out during your run!
If you ran 1 minute at 6 mph (10 min pace), 1 minute at 5 mph (12 min pace), and 1 minute at 4mph (15 min pace) your average speed would be 5mph, but your average pace would be 12:20. To get nerdy about it, they don’t match up because pace doesn’t have a linear relationship with speed.
I created a planner/pace calculator that's tailored to OTF's running style - Where we tend to change our pace as we go - Similar to the 1-minute run benchmark planner we have couple of weeks ago. https://coda.io/@kennywong/otf
The Orangetheory 1 Mile Benchmark is a fitness challenge designed to help participants track their progress over time. During the Benchmark, participants are required to run 1 mile on a treadmill with a minimum incline of 1% in a 14-minute tread block.
Orangetheory’s 12-minute run gives you the freedom to determine the distance you can power walk or run in 12 minutes. It is an occasional benchmark challenge, giving you a chance to outdo yourself on the treadmill.
