Exception Value: too many SQL variables. And I think the answer to it is this, from here: Many SQL programmers are familiar with using a question mark ("?") as a host parameter. SQLite also supports named host parameters prefaced by ":", "$", or "@" and numbered host parameters of the form "?123".
9 mar 2018 · To prevent excessive memory allocations, the maximum value of a host parameter number is SQLITE_MAX_VARIABLE_NUMBER, which defaults to 999 for SQLite versions prior to 3.32.0 (2020-05-22) or 32766 for SQLite versions after 3.32.0.
The error you're encountering, "sqlite3.OperationalError: too many SQL variables", is due to a limitation in SQLite, which only allows a certain number of SQL variables in a single query. This limit is typically 999 variables.
17 maj 2018 · In pandas 0.22 I could write a dataframe to sql of reasonable size without error. Now I receive this error "OperationalError: (sqlite3.OperationalError) too many SQL variables". I am converting a dataframe with ~20k+ rows to sql.
row.delete() except django.db.utils.OperationalError: print(dbconnection.queries) dbconnection.queries prints several small SELECT queries but the last query is a DELETE query with more than 1000 parameters. {'time': '0.001', 'sql': 'QUERY =.
By default the batch_size is unlimited, but on SQLite it is restricted so that a single query does not get too many variables.
The problem only occurs when SQLITE_MAX_VARIABLE_NUMBER has been changed to be greated than SQLITE_MAX_COLUMN, which isn't the default, and there's no way to introspect these values -- the Python bindings don't expose the API of sqlite. It is enough, I think, to try to generate a query with 2001 variables and see if it works.
