10 sty 2018 · I have noticed a number of people comment that their tech2 fails the self test but still appears to work - there is a reason for that. Yes the tech2 is faulty - it’s just the bit that fails is not used in your car.
Ensure battery power cable is not connected to vehicle battery or Tech 2. Use a standard fuse puller to remove the fuse(s) from the fuse box. Inspect fuse(s) for damage and replace with identical 3-amp fuse(s) if required. Verify by connecting battery power cable to Tech 2 and vehicle battery.

7 kwi 2018 · Plugging an independent power source into the connector on the back of the OBD port plug should get around this issue - I used a battery boost pack with the tech2 cigarette lighter power lead on mine and was then able to get an engine RPM reading whilst cranking.

4 sie 2008 · Got a 2000 Saab-95, with the SID reporting Anti theft service. Battery has been flat, but now charged up and alarm works ok, but still showing SID message. So I've seen all the info about how to change the batteries in the remote and in the unit under the wing.
