You connect to it with 1.14, and it then in turn pretends to be a 1.12 client and connects to the remote server. It's going to be a 3.3.5 client with some patch files you need to download. When TBC comes out they will just type a couple gm commands and maybe restart the server, then everything switches over to TBC.
