The Roman Empire eventually fell in the fifth century CE, due to a combination of internal decay and external pressures from invading tribes. Understanding the rise and fall of these empires can help us contextualize the stories of the Bible and the challenges faced by the ancient Israelites.
In this article, I propose the following about the identity of Babylon in the book of Revelation. Babylon is the city of the antichrist that has existed since the first anti-God city in history (Gen 11:1–9) and will continue to exist until Jesus returns and destroys it (Rev 17:1–19:5).
