21 mar 2022 · Signant's eCOA science expert compares the results of paper versus electronic implementations of visual analog scales and provides recommendations.
10 lut 2022 · Visual analogue scales (VASs) are used in a variety of patient-, observer- and clinician-reported outcome measures. While typically included in measures originally developed for pen-and-paper completion, a greater number of clinical trials currently use electronic approaches to their collection.
Based on a sample of 115 participants (68 female), our results revealed that the respondents preferred a paper-based VAS item with a horizontal, 8-cm long, 3 DTP (“desktop publishing point”) wide, black line, with flat line endpoints, and the ascending numerical anchors “0” and “10”, both for women and men.
22 maj 2019 · The visual analogue scale (VAS) is an established, validated, self-report measure usually consisting of a 10 cm line on paper with verbal anchors labeling the ends.
VASs are brief and simple to administer and are particularly useful when assessing a single construct with many perceptible gradations due to the continuous nature of the scale and the 101...
1 paź 2016 · When measured to 1-mm accuracy, this results in a 101-point scale: (0, 1, …, 100). In this article we will consider VAS to be reported in centimetres, i.e. on the scale 0–10. There is robust discussion in the literature on how best to categorize the level of VAS measurement.
