9 cze 2017 · I've got an old iMac (mid-2010 model) but I don't want to use it directly. I appreciate its display and audio so it sounds good if it can be turned into a simple monitor. My primary Windows 10 PC is capable of outputting video through HDMI and Mini DisplayPort.
20 sie 2020 · I have done bootcamp on Windows 10, and I cannot seem to get it to detect my external display. it is an hdmi display connected through a thunderbolt dock. I have tried using an adaptor, to no avail. I have updated drivers, tried using old ones, reinstalling bootcamp utilities, etc. none of it worked.
27 sie 2024 · Step 1. Turn on both computers and connect the iMac to PC. Plug one end of the Thunderbolt cable or Mini DisplayPort cable into the iMac and the other end to your Windows computer. If your Windows computer doesn't have those ports, you can easily get an adapter. Step 2. Enter the Target Display Mode on iMac.
10 wrz 2017 · You need the following to use Target Display Mode: A Mac notebook or desktop with a Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt port. If your Mac has Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, you can connect it using the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. A Thunderbolt cable or a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.
25 gru 2022 · Unfortunately if you try to install Windows 10 in EFI mode in a 2011 iMac, you will face random reboots, Cirrus Logic Audio not working (internal speakers) and possibly video problems...
There are only two iMac models that will work for a PC, and those are the Late 2009 27" iMac and the Mid 2010 27" iMac. Those will work with anything that outputs a DisplayPort signal. The 2013 iMac will only work with other Macs through Thunderbolt, not a Windows PC.
