Out of the new starters, I believe that Skeledirge is the most immediately impactful (and least reliant on its eventual Community Day starter move). Quaquaval is at least interesting enough to be worth grinding, but will improve significantly when it eventually gets Hydro Cannon.

It's definitely not a Pokemon you want to put faith into winning with; however, if it's just for fun then winning won't matter much anyway lol. The best set is the randoms battle one I've put below.
