Today, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is one of the most modern state police agencies in the nation. Using the latest in technology, the OHP continues to protect and serve the citizens of Oklahoma. The majority of the members are assigned to the thirteen field Troops, A though M and the turnpike Troops, X and Y.
OSU-OKC is partnering with Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) to offer advanced standing college credit for OHP recruits who have successfully completed the OHP training academy. OHP recruits earn college credit toward an associate’s degree in Police Science and helps them meet the college credit requirement to be commissioned OHP Troopers.
You may qualify for up to 39 college credit hours toward your degree if you successfully complete the OHP Academy. Click here for more details. Prior to graduation from the OHP Academy, possess an associate’s degree or a minimum of sixty-two (62) successfully completed semester hours from an accredited college or university.
OHP has patrol jurisdiction over all state highways and waterways in Oklahoma, regulating motor vehicles, regulating explosive devices, and providing protection for the Governor of Oklahoma, the Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma and members of the Oklahoma Legislature.

Senate Bill (SB) 338, signed into law by Gov. Stitt, will allow Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers to receive the majority of their required 64 college credit hours during the academy through a partnership with OSU-OKC.
