Lake Ōhau is a lake in the Mackenzie Basin on the South Island of New Zealand. The Hopkins and Dobson rivers fed into the northern end of Lake Ōhau. These rivers have their headwaters in the Southern Alps / Kā Tiritiri o te Moana.
Ōhau is the smallest of three roughly parallel lakes running north–south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin (the others are Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo). It covers 60 km 2. Lake Ōhau with tussocks in the foreground. Lake Ohau Alpine Village is located on the western shore of the Lake.

The Lake is fed by two rivers that flow south from the Main Divide of the Southern Alps / Kā Tiritiri o te Moana. The Dobson River lies between the Ben Ōhau and Naumann Ranges, and the Hopkins River lies between the Nauman and Barrier Ranges.
Lake Ōhau is a glacial lake in Te Manahuna (the Mackenzie Basin), fed by Te Awa Aruhe (Hopkins River) and Ōtaao (Dobson River). The lake’s water quality is very good and the ecological condition is excellent (www.lawa.org.nz). The lake is surrounded by tussock land that suffers from grazing by introduced himalayan thar.
