Change or update your email password in Outlook for Windows. If you intend to change your email password, you must do that with your email provider (e.g., Microsoft 365, Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, Xfinity, or a corp. Exchange server). Then you will need to update the password in Outlook.
If you have a new password, if your email provider has asked you to change settings, or if you're having problems with sending and receiving email, you can change your email account settings through Mail in the Windows Control Panel, or from Outlook.
Sign in to office.com/signin with your work or school account. Go to Settings > Password. Enter your old password. Create a new password and confirm it. Select Submit to finish and change your password.
