7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.
I have ~10 years old GOTY edition of Oblivion. It installed without any issues - both main game and expansions. The game runs for me, but I can't change any graphics settings. When I wish to enter Optins from the launcher, I receive information that the Oblivion.ini file is missing.
You need to specify where your save folder is the oblivion.ini located in Documents\My Games\Oblivion or move your saves to the default location, Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves. At least, that is how it works normally for retail and steam versions.
10 lip 2022 · I was able to find a pretty simple fix, just go to \My Games\Oblivion and delete your Oblivion.ini, with any luck it should run normally after that. #6 ApexSlayer

A solution someone said worked was to disable OneDrive sync for oblivion and to make sure your saves are in the default save location, [C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves], and make sure the .ini reflects that.
7 wrz 2017 · The .ini file is located in ../Documents/My Games/Oblivion and should've been automatically generated when you first launched the game. Check to see if there's a 'Configuration setting' file type. That's the one you need to change.
