7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.

You need to specify where your save folder is the oblivion.ini located in Documents\My Games\Oblivion or move your saves to the default location, Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves. At least, that is how it works normally for retail and steam versions.
There's a fresh backup available here; try to place it in Documents/my games/Oblivion and check if it helps.
when I go into the launcher and press play, I get an error from the oblivion launcher that says "The Oblivion Launcher could not find the Oblivion game executable. Your saved games are located in your C:\\My Documents\\My Games\\Oblivion directory.
