I am trying to install various mods but almost all require OBSE and when I try to run obse it just says it cannot find oblivion.exe when it's definitely in the same folder... i have tried multiple versions of obse.
I’m going to assume obge is obse but go into your oblivion directory. To get there right click oblivion on steam and go to manage browse local file. If you have oblivion script extender installed (obse) there should be a file called obse_loader and that’s how you should be running the game not from steam and you might need to run the 4gb ...
You can read OBSE.log file in your Oblivion folder(where oblivion.exe is). Every time you kick the TES4 with OBSE, obse create this log file and you can check how obse was loaded and what obse plugins are loaded with it.
10 kwi 2011 · Open a command prompt window, navigate to your oblivion install folder, and type "obse_loader -editor". The normal editor can open plugins with these extended scripts fine, it just can't recompile them and will give errors if you try.
15 sty 2021 · Try the new xOBSE. To start Oblivion with OBSE, you must make a new shortcut, not start the game with Oblivion.exe nor the OblivionLauncher.exe. If Steam starts the game with the shortcut: "Launch The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion" you can edit it: "X:\xxxxxxxx\Oblivion\obse_loader.exe".
Run oblivion by running obse_loader.exe from the Oblivion directory. If you use a desktop shortcut to launch Oblivion normally, just update the shortcut to point to obse_loader.exe instead of oblivion.exe.
