7 mar 2020 · I've been trying for hours to play oblivion. i downloaded yesterday and started up the game. i tried creating a save file so the oblivion documents folder was created to mod the game. the folder was not created. i then spent the next 6 hours scouring the internet to find a solution.
If you used Steam delete your data folder and tell it to check the integrity of local files. It will download all the files the game is missing.
12 lut 2011 · Reinstalling Oblivion should restore all your folders. Then make a full backup of your Data folder, preferably unmodded, so you can always restore selectively from that. That will also allow you to revert to a vanilla install if you really start to run into problems with corrupted or missing files.
Before you make any change, make a copy of your Oblivion.ini and your latest game save files. Changes in the Oblivion.ini can corrupt game saves or prevent the game from starting. In the event of an issue arising, simply replace the modified INI file with your backup and try using a backed up or earlier save file.
CTD on Startup usually indicates a missing master or a bad Oblivion.ini setting. Whenever troubleshooting crashes, try regenerating a fresh Oblivion.ini. Reinstalling Oblivion will not overwrite an existing Oblivion.ini, so clear it out along with the My Games\Oblivion folder for a clean sweep.
